On November 10, 2025, Naver Maps launched its massive V6 update — the first full redesign in six years — transforming from a simple navigation app into a true all-in-one life platform.
Key Highlights
- New name: “네이버지도” (no space)
- Fresh 3D logo and completely revamped UI
- New “Booking” tab added — reserve restaurants, cafés, activities, hotels, flights, and more in one place
- Top tabs reorganized into 5: Discover → Booking → Public Transit → Navigation → Saved
- One-tap “Booking Search” — no more fiddling with filters
- Multilingual support (English, Chinese, Japanese) for foreign tourists
- Smoother landscape mode, relocated MY menu, and new features like driving score & step counter
Why It Matters
62% of Naver Maps users are MZ generation. They hated jumping between apps to search → book → pay → navigate. The new Booking tab kills that friction: discover a spot, see real-time availability and deals, book instantly, and get navigation + calendar reminders — all inside the same app.
With 30 million monthly active users already, Naver is doubling down on turning the map app into Korea’s ultimate daily life hub.
The V6 update started rolling out on November 10, 2025.
